From their expansive windows, the hotel’s 36 modern-style guest rooms offer a magnificent panoramic view of the gulf. The Valdés Peninsula extends into the Atlantic Ocean, providing shelter to right whales, killer whales and toninas (Commersons dolphin), which can be spotted from the hotel.
The natural surroundings flood your senses as you enjoy the sauna, the hot-and-cold Scottish shower, or a beauty treatment in the glass-enclosed spa room. In the evening, you can also enjoy the landscape from the exclusive restaurant, as you savor delicious gourmet dishes with an emphasis on seafood, or the traditional Patagonian lamb.
The legacy of the Welsh immigrants, who named the city, is still alive in various places of the hotel in photographs and old maps of the region. The small Las Cuevas museum, in the vicinity of the hotel, and the small town of Gaiman, a few miles away, provide more information about the history of these pioneers.
On the way back, a last look reveals the back of a whale, and you can hear the puff of its breath as it expels a jet of water. The conversation, now about this characteristic species, continues at the Ecocentro cultural center, and later, at Territorio, where past and present, nature and technology meet. A unique experience in a lonely and boundless landscape.
