Experiencing the glacier is the idea behind this rustic-style inn decorated with antique furniture. In the brightly colored bedrooms, the décor combines iron bedsteads with English wardrobes and rattan armchairs. Pots and vases hold spikes of native coirons.
Just like the notro (firebush), a characteristic shrub of the region, this dreamlike place is one of a kind. The former construction, in an exceptional natural environment, was just a parador (roadside bar) to observe the Moreno glacier and its surroundings. Later, it was turned into a restaurant, and finally it found its place in the world as a hotel protected by the ice giant.
After strolling the wooden walkways, sailing Lake Argentino or hiking along the glacier, it is very gratifying to sit down at the restaurant. Regional gourmet dishes are served with exclusive wines and drinks in an impeccable setting where the open curtains reveal the spectacle of nature.
Coffee in the upstairs lounge prolongs the pleasant evening. A distant roar interrupts the lively talk. The sound of chunks of ice falling startles the visitors. Everybody takes a look outside, just to confirm, once again, that the glacier is alive.
