From the restaurant you can see the garden, whose careful design outlines the hotel. A magnificent honeysuckle, garden lupines, roses, lavender and native amancay (inca lily) brighten the green with their colors. In springtime there are also tulips that, for a brief time, show their waxy petals.
After an outdoor cooking class, some guests visit the wine cellar, others sample the exclusive blend Unus from Mendel, the hotel owners’ winery. Meanwhile, preparations begin for a lunch menu of signature cuisine with regional and seasonal ingredients.
A combination of textures and colors livens up each space. For smoking a Havana cigar, the Petit bar offers comfortable leather armchairs, where the tomato red walls contrast with the light-colored English tiles. In the lobby, a wall upholstered in leather stands out; next to it rests a wooden-and-cement table, a work created by local craftsmen. Moroccan and Mapuche weavings display their hues in the suites, illuminated by multi-paned windows.
The pier offers a view of the sand and stone beach. A group is waiting to board a boat while observing some kayaks set off on a tour around the bay. The sun warms the air and invites you to walk barefoot on the wood up to the end of the pier. The heat invites another dip, this time in the lake. The refreshing water reminds you that harmony is possible. You just have to know where to look for it.
