With the peaks of the mountain range as a backdrop, this cozy refuge rises just a few yards from the seashore. Mussels, including cholgas, and snails are plentiful among the rocks. You can also spot seals and even penguins. Charles Darwin saw a picture of calm retreat in this landscape. He observed the crystalline water, the tree branches overhanging the rocky beach, the wooded valley, the port and the ships at anchor. Such a landscape convinced the naturalist that this place was one of a kind. |
